Story of Us

Once upon a time, inspired by the Turkish roots of coffee roasting, the husband embarked on a captivating journey into the world of coffee craftsmanship. His exploration began in China, mastering simple rotating drums over flame and he has been experimenting with various roasting machines until today,

With certificates from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) in China and some awards in roasting competitions, he has become a skilled coffee artisan. His wife, not only his relentless tasting companion but also his biggest supporter, plays a crucial role in critiquing roasts and driving all marketing activities and social media efforts.

As "Localers" with Turkish heritage, they proudly carry the rich tradition of coffee roasting, a legacy passed down by their Turkish ancestors. Blending this heritage with experiences from China and Vietnam, they infuse a unique touch into every batch at Local Roastery.

But their story doesn't end with coffee. Alongside their passion for roasting, there's a new chapter unfolding - the tale of their bakery. This journey is led by the wife, whose dedication to baking sourdough breads has been unwavering since January 2018. She brought her starter from Turkiye to China, and from China to Vietnam, nurturing it like a precious heirloom.

Her love for baking, combined with the family's Turkish heritage, adds a delightful aroma to their venture. Together, they blend the art of coffee roasting with the craft of sourdough baking, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors and aromas at Local Roastery | Bakery.

Our Little Localers

 In the heart of Local Roastery, there are also two little "Localers" – Erkin, a 4-year -old adventurer, and Aren, a 10-year-old enthusiast. They are learning the art of coffee roasting from their father, eagerly helping him by chewing one coffee bean to taste after each roasting batch. With giggles and joy, they report the tastes they get and provide valuable evaluations of the roasts.
